Once more around the pylons.... The Grass Racing Autosports season kicked off with another Autocross at the Shah Alam Stadium, our home ground. But, to be different, the event was held on a Saturday, running from midday to late evening, and so several runs around the cones were in semi-darkness. To make life easier, James Russell fitted rally lights to his v4 Impreza, winning himself the "bling-bling" award in the process! James was joined by our trainee rally driver Valerie Atkinson in her Toyota Vios. Also new for this year was the absence of marker cones... just a diagram on a piece of paper marking out the route, requiring an excellent memory in order to clear the course correctly. Many didn't. Both James and Valerie had some runs cancelled, but both finished, and both gained some excellent experience. However; James shredded a set of tires in the process.
